12 Sep Jeju The Moment: SIEBENSTER 1 kg Coffee Roaster Installation
I received a call from a woman with a youthful voice who said she wanted to buy a roaster.
She was opening a new dessert cafe on Jeju Island and needed a 1 kg roaster.
Oh, Jeju! I was thrilled.
My work takes me all over the country, and it suits me so well that the farther away it is, the better I like it~
The young owner was so easygoing that the contract was signed on the spot without even seeing the machine, and we asked for photos of the installation site.
The photo was from during construction, and maybe because my imagination is lacking, I couldn’t really picture it. Anyway, the sky was blue without a single cloud, and it looked nice~
Also, I’m the type who looks at photos functionally, so I end up looking only at things like what size the door is, whether there is a step, and whether separate equipment will be needed.
Occupational habit is truly a scary thing. I end up assessing everything piece by piece and in terms of function.
Anyway, the delivery date arrived. We sent a wing-body truck with a lift gate by ship, while we flew in the day before and stayed one night near the airport as a bit of a trip.
Since we arrived at night, we couldn’t go anywhere special. We decided to go to a raw fish restaurant with no information to go on, but most of them were already closed after 10 p.m.
We called the restaurants around us one by one using the navigation system and decided to just go to one that was open.
That’s how we ended up at Haemoru.

We had truly discovered the best restaurant of our lives.
The restaurant wasn’t big, and the menu didn’t have the usual flounder or rockfish, so I wasn’t keen on it when we first walked in.
The menu was composed of set courses, mainly sea bream, salmon, and amberjack, and mackerel sashimi and fish porridge came out on the side.
I tried mackerel sashimi for the first time in my life….
Amazing!!!!!!!
The idea that mackerel would taste fishy was complete prejudice.
I love tuna, and honestly it tasted better than tuna. That rich, nutty flavor and clean taste, I can still remember it vividly.
After that day, I resolved that whenever I come to Jeju, it’s Haemoru, no question.
Jeju cafe owners, please look to SIEBENSTER often. I want to visit often~ haha
While writing this, I went off on a tangent; it suddenly turned into a restaurant review.
After a pleasant evening, we drove for about an hour the next day and arrived at The Moment. The interior work was all finished, but because the building itself was newly constructed, the yard had not been paved yet.
We installed SIEBENSTER in about an hour, then rechecked gas tightness and confirmed all operation tests, and explained how to use it.
The owner, though young, has such an open, easygoing personality that we finished off a very pleasant installation.
We said we would visit every time we come to Jeju, and headed back.
Now you can enjoy coffee roasted with SIEBENSTER in Jeju too~
And did you know? Coffee roasted on a smaller roaster tastes better because of the greater share of conductive heat!!!
Anyway, after getting back from a successful installation, while browsing online I wondered how the place looked now that it was finished, so I grabbed some photos from the internet.

The moment I saw this photo… I was reminded once again how meager my imagination is.
The European-style building and yard are gorgeous~
This photo of the side of the building is really something….
It feels like a cafe in southern Italy.
It suddenly makes me want to watch Game of Thrones again.
The interior is gorgeous, isn’t it?
It’s truly a picture-perfect space.
It’s a cafe space that is European in style yet keeps the feel of a southern resort area, which makes it a perfect match for Jeju!
