13 Mar SIEBENSTER 6 kg Coffee Roaster Installed in Changwon

We installed a SIEBENSTER SP-06 6 kg coffee roaster in Changwon.

A customer who had long shown interest in SIEBENSTER and stayed in touch with us was using an existing Easyster 1.8, and because of its capacity limits, chose our product this time.

​

The black-gold color goes well with the exposed concrete.

​

We came a long way, all the way from Paju to Changwon!

Because it was the cold season, the installation had originally been scheduled for the morning, but at the freight driver’s request we agreed to unload the roaster right as we arrived at the site.

The time was 5:30 in the early morning.

Having driven all night and then unloaded right away without a break, it was a demanding schedule from the very start.

On top of that, the installation site was on the 5th floor, and given the situation on the ground floor we could not simply leave it there, so we decided to take it up to the 5th floor right away.

But the problem was the elevator size. (sigh)

The elevator was awkwardly, slightly too small.

It seems like it should fit, yet it just barely doesn’t… that awkward in-between…

​

So we quickly decided to remove the wrapping and half-disassemble it!

After detaching the piping at the rear and angling it in diagonally, the cooler discharge outlet at the front got caught. (sigh)

​

On a normal day we would have shrugged this off, but after driving through the night without a break, our energy drained away…

But in the hope that we could rest as soon as this was up, we pulled it out once more, disassembled the cooler section, and succeeded in getting it into the elevator!

​

By the time it was up on the 5th floor, it was 7 a.m.

​

The agreed installation time was 9 a.m., so the timing was very awkward, but we went to a nearby sauna to warm our cold bodies, even if only briefly.

​

However, finding a 24-hour sauna in Changwon (formerly Masan) wasn’t easy.

​

After wandering for 30 minutes, the sauna we finally found had hygiene and facilities so shocking that we wondered whether this was really Korea… (sigh)

​

After a short rest, we came straight back to the site and began the installation.

​

We positioned it in the center and quickly completed the installation.

​

As a 6 kg unit, its size is substantial, isn’t it? Since it can sometimes roast up to 8 kg in a pinch, it is imposing in size compared with other manufacturers’ products.

​

The installation was finished quickly, but because the owner here was due to come in the afternoon, we arranged to return in the afternoon to go over operation and do a test roast.

​

Because the site was a newly relocated space, the ductwork was not yet fully in place.

​

Also, there was a tall apartment building right next door, so installing a smoke eliminator needed to be considered. After meeting the owner, we gave guidance on duct installation, explained the smoke eliminator, and changed the direction of the exhaust outlet accordingly.

We completed the test roast successfully with the roaster connected to Firescope, and by the time everything was done, stars were out in the cold night sky.

We started under the stars and finished under the stars, but

​

once everything was wrapped up and the owner treated us to a delicious dinner, even the fatigue seemed to melt away.

​
