21 Feb SIEBENSTER 3 kg Coffee Roaster Installed in Hongdae

Did you know the new SIEBENSTER 3 kg roaster is out?

Before the installation story, let me give a quick introduction.

The 3 kg machine has received quite a few changes this time.

Micro-roasteries have been growing remarkably in recent years, so we put real effort into making this a specialty roaster in a class that can genuinely be used for business.

To sum up just what has changed:

• As you can see at a glance, the design has changed from a table type to a tower type. After all, it looks more professional to anyone who sees it!

• A middle damper has been added so that the chaff bin can be emptied during roasting. You know how chaff flies around like rain when air flows in from the bottom of the cyclone, right?

It is a design that adds usability on top of airtightness.

​

• Though you can’t see it, there has been a change in the material composition inside the drum. Previously, STS304 was the outer drum and STS310S was the inner drum, but we have swapped their positions. 310S is a heat-resistant material, so it is better placed where the flame touches directly. (The term ‘SUS’ is a Japanese notation, so we use ‘STS,’ the official notation for stainless steel.)

• All the openings that need maintenance have been changed to a magnetic one-touch type. After all, it has to be easy if people are going to maintain it often. This is a machine for a lifetime, so maintenance is extremely important.

​

• It is smaller now. That does not mean the drum size has shrunk; because no table is used, the height and width have become slimmer. Since we clearly have specialty micro-roasteries in mind as our main target customers, we made it a compact size that works well even in small shops. It looks impressive, yet the floor area it actually takes up has decreased, which is great!

• Because this is a machine that can be used in a one-person shop, we added a time-off function to help you get off work a little earlier in a tiring day. When roasting is finished, press the time-off button and head home right away. It turns off automatically after a set time. (Automated models shut down automatically based on temperature.)

That is the summary so far. It has changed and improved a lot, hasn’t it? It is already in use at thriving micro-roasteries, where it has proven its results. You can use it with confidence as a roaster for specialty coffee.

As part of this, we installed the new 3 kg roaster at the ‘YESYOU’ cafe that recently opened in Hongdae.

This is the machine, tightly wrapped under a veil.

Off we go, nice and easy~

Since this is a newly opening cafe, construction was in its final stages, and the sign had not been replaced yet.

Because it is slim, it passes right through a standard 900-size door!

Clean and neat, with nothing superfluous!

The space between the bar and the aisle is not wide, yet it fits in there. The controller is not attached to the machine, so it can be positioned to suit the situation, allowing comfortable use in a variety of installation environments.

A fit so good it looks color-matched to the La Marzocco!

Looks great~ They say you shouldn’t fall in love with your own product, but ‘what am I supposed to do…’

We have finished the installation and initial walkthrough, and now we take our leave.

For SIEBENSTER, installation is not the end. We also provide roasting training as needed. Free of charge, of course.

The owner of YESYOU had already visited in person before installation to run a test and was very satisfied. So today we get to head home early ^^
